Westminster City Council additional licensing consultation 2021

On 19 November 2020, Westminster City Council launched a public consultation on plans to implement an additional licensing scheme for all Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). The consultation was due to run until 11 February 2021 (read here).

On 28 January 2021, Landlord Licensing and Defence highlighted that the link to the additional licensing consultation had disappeared from the council’s website, making it impossible for anyone to take part.

Having been made aware of the issue, Westminster City Council quickly responded to address the issue. Their consultation web-page was reinstated later in the day.

A spokesperson from Westminster City Council told London Property Licensing:

Due to the launch of our new website, the additional licensing consultation page was unavailable for a few days. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused, and have extended the consultation until 18 February.

Everyone with an interest in the proposed licensing scheme now has an extra week to make their views known. More details can be found on the council’s website.
